The CHCAfrica HYPER DRIVE is a visible public movement for children’s cardiovascular health across the continent.
Across Africa, primary hypertension among children is rising at an alarming rate. HYPER DRIVE represents a bold and coordinated response: an African-led effort to build the first large-scale continental dataset of children’s blood pressure while simultaneously driving community awareness and early detection.
Through HYPER DRIVE, our consortium will work collectively with small- and medium enterprises to:
Screen thousands of children across participating sites
Identify elevated blood pressure early in life
Build Africa’s largest childhood blood pressure dataset
Generate evidence to inform prevention strategies rooted in African communities
This initiative is more than a research project. It is a movement driven by science, compassion, and collaboration to ensure that African children grow into healthy adults.
